Domainers on the whole are not a very distinguishing lot, and they seem to follow the Pied Piper where ever he goes. Let's face it most of this lot were in awe of Olney. It is hardly surprising that they are queuing up to play Follow the Loser.

Nothing new here. Sahir reckons we should all be listening to Rick, but come on on guys we here an awful lot about this guy but does he really have a first class portfolio? Is he really one of the Giants? Look at the names he is developing. Is "his life's work" Assista really a Google Killer? Even Rick has fairly mediocre selection apart from one or two he paid a lot of for in the after market. OK, he sold iReport.com, but are all those names he has with www bolted to the front really top Generics? Would any of his help and tips really made you money? When I first went to his forum, he was advising me to buy Real Estate in Florida right at the top of the market. Just as Touchring was pushing everyone to buy Silver and Gold at the top.

As for MJ, he might be the King of Finland, but frankly he knowledge and portfolios elsewhere are likely to prove a bit limited. But if people want to go there that is fine. And if they want a socially flat environment that is fine too. I get enough spam as it is!

However, anyone persistently abusing our hospitality here will get banned. I should not need to make the point again.

When mulligan was asking people to buy, the price is $600+. I bought at $720, i already cashed out at $900+. Waitiing for the price to drop back to where i last bought before buying back again. When it is cheap, buy, when it is expensive, don't buy, sell instead.

Precious metals is correcting because people think that the likes of countrywide, BoA and citibank is out of the woods - do you RD believe that?

Rick is the smart guy and tough bargainer, his portfolio isn't the best or even best 5, as we all know, but he has the ability to sell mediocre names for big bucks, like men.com, ireport.com.

Personally, I think the Bush Adminstration is doing everything it can to talk the economy up, including fudging most of the data.

The last employment figures showed 20K loss of jobs including part-time.

The was, however, a 306K increase in part-time jobs, which meant that the loss of full-time jobs was 286K, which ties in quite well with the picture we are getting from the types of data that Bush has no influence over.

Part-time jobs are anything over one day a month. These figures can be fudged so easily it does not even bear thinking about.

The big increases in employment were in the Financial Sector which offset loses elsewhere. If you believe that then you also obviously believe in the tooth fairy.

As for Rick he started an unseemly stampede into dot Mobi, which has now been shown to be a complete disaster. His judgement varies from sound to completely dodgy. Yes, I would tend to agree with you he gets good retail values. This may be down to the transparency of some of the transactions, but it certainly based to some extent on reputation that is unwarranted. In terms of portfolios, he is certainly not top five. Maybe top fifity.

Make me happy? I simply asked a question. Did I sound sad or something?
So if I disagree with a member's comments here, I have to go create my own forum? GTFOH!

..

RD, once again, you're avoiding the issue as you always seem to do, by pulling Rick, Sahar, and the US economy out of your hat. Besides bashing domain professionals in general, at will.

Can you simply explain weather MJ's post was indeed spam or was he answering a direct question to him by a member here?

i think there's nothing to argue over this, which forum to use is a personal preference.

It would seem on the surface of it that this is a direct reply to a direct question, but as the question was written in Russian perhaps he should have replied in Russian.

MJ has certainly been continually spamming at IDNFs. I was simply drawing a line in the sand here. I don't particulary want to ban anyone, but this forum is not just about how good his forum is. Surely, he has enough bandwidth at his own host to put out that message?

As for what I am allowed to talk about there is very little IDN news at all at the moment. The main event is TRAFFICS and you won't see anything about it there. I think where we go and who we listen to are very valid subjects for discussion, as is the economic situation which inevitably effects us all. As for Guru's, as most domainers seem to follow them, these are valid subjects also. If any of you are not happy about the open nature of the discussion here, then it is you that should GTFOH!

I tell you now where MJ sits on all this. The guy is not a domain speculator at all. His portfolio is self-financing. He is fortunate in as much as Finish will allow you to do this as the market is a bit further forward than most. It does, however, put him in a weak position to discuss risk as this is a foreign concept to him. Christ, he wasn't even prepared to stump up for his own forum! Of course this lack of acceptance of risk will limit his potential returns, and all of those that follow his example.

By the way, where on the forum can we start threads in English about Russian IDN´s?
I thought his reply was to this question, clearly in English. Unless the person asking the question was referring to DNL and JM took it as a question regarding idnc.

Anyway, appreciate the answer. I know you don't want to ban anyone for no apparent reason, hence my post in amazement regarding comments made by others after your warning to MJ, to which Idner took exception.
