2006國際化網域名稱博覽會( Internationalized Domain Name Show 2006, 簡稱 IDNshow, www.IDNshow.com )將於10/23開始展出,為期一個月,展覽日期直到 2006-11-22. 這是第一個在網際網路上舉辦的正式展覽會,邀集上萬個具有特色的網域名稱聚在一起,讓你完整體驗網域名稱的多樣性. 本次活動由國際化網域名稱俱樂部主辦(簡稱 IDNclub, www.IDNclub.com ). 基於網際網路的特性,IDNclub的成員來自全球各地,包含有中國 台灣 香港 日本 美國 俄羅斯 ... 等四面八方的網友,每日聚集在一起交流網域名稱的訊息.

國際化網域名稱(Internationalized Domain Name,IDN)與一般網域名稱的差異在於容許使用英文字元與數字以外的文字或是符號作為網址. (比如: 你的域名.com 我的域名.net 他的域名.tw ). 除了中文域名以外,現在大部分的文字都可以將它變成網址的一部分,包含德文 日文 阿拉伯文... 甚至是一些符號也都可以成為網址. 之所以能夠使用世界各國的語言當網址,就是因為國際上有一個共同的標準,將各式文字與符號轉換成另一種編碼--- punycode (一個根據RFC 3492標準而製定的編碼系統 ). 透過編碼的轉換,讓你在瀏覽器上輸入文字或符號形式的網址,變可以連接到該網站. 目前較常見的瀏覽器Firefox已經有支援這樣的轉換,而Microsoft的IE7也將直接支援. (如果你使用IE6上網,需要安裝外掛程式.)

網域名稱博覽會為了方便訪客參觀,特別將域名依照特性分成八大類. 包含..
