Actually, i do not know much about the impact of the dollar on domaining, except, PPC is going to be hit - at least, i'm getting less singapore dollars per American dollar.
As for Renminbi, it's pegged to the dollar, so if the dollar dives 10% against the British pound, the rmb will also dive 9-10%.
So i guess, if you are not from the US, or China, a dollar meltdown is likely to be bad news.
For me, it will definitely be bad news, since lots of hot money is flowing into Singapore real estate recently due to Sand's casino thingy, possibly from neighboring Asian countries like Indonesia, India and China, hence i'll lose even more against the dollar.
When i started domaining about a year ago, one american dollar buys 1.75 singapore dollars. Now it's down to 1.55 singapore dollars, so the domains that i bought in the early days, i'll lose 12% just on currency alone.
So, did i make a bad move by going into domains?
No. If i hadn't gone into domains last Sept, i wouldn't have discovered IDNF in Nov, and i wouldn't be able to build up a money generating PPC portfolio.
