Let me put my cards on the table to start off on the topic of .mobi

I have 3 .mobi's - i have no idea if they will return anything from an investment perspective.

Ricks flowers.mobi, i don't think this is as dumb as some of you make out. He can afford the price tag, the name fits the mobile shopping market and its a 1 word name.

but what has got me dumbfounded is this: Sportsbook.mobi commanding the big bucks - a whopping $129,800 in a private sale

now, i don't want to focus on the .mobi part, i want to focus on the "sportsbook" part.

why on earth would anyone spend 100k+ on an americanism term, and instantly alienate anyone not from USA.

i had to google sportsbook to look it up, sure I have heard of it, but its never a term i have written, said or seen outside of the U.S

at least with Ricks domain, a worldwide flower delivery service is viable - but sportsbook - I just don't get it.
