Foreign companies have been trying to 'break' the Chinese market for a while and will do almost anything to do so. They know that's where the future action will be and will make the US market look like a corner shop with some out-of-date spaghetti hoops for sale.
A difficult proposition and even more so if you have no idea what your target audience want, what they are looking for, how they think or how they interact with the internet.
The only viable way as far as I can see is to get native partners on board and swear them to secrecy so that they don't reveal that a 'Western' company is involved ...
