Yes, I am affraid Dave might be right. SMF 2.0 is a much more advanced, modern, robust and fast piece of code. Just try a search in here and you'll see what I mean.

You can see that I when tweaking code or using the admin panel. VB stores code on the db!!! How about that for a start?!

But... vB is everywhere and people are used to it, even if when they search they can't find it because it's 2 letters only, or because it's too common, or because it only shows the thread title wich has 200 posts, and is buried somewhere, lol.

Why do all vB forums look alike? Have you thought about that? Well I tell you why: becasue it's almost impossible to break the flat bloated code of vB template. That tells you much about an app, but works both ways, cause it makes people comfortable with the interface. Also reminds me of Microsoft...

Also, the WYSIWIG editor (that many complained) is now part of SMF 2.0. And have you checked the cache structure of vB? Damn, that's heavy. You need to flush it regularly or what you see and what you search is not what is there.

But vb is more secure, just like Microsoft is much more secure than Leopard.
