Well, I am not normally coming over to dnlocal to talk about IDNChannel, but since you all already got the thread running then I will respond - in English, if I may :-)
Yes, of course people are free to post in Russian or any other language at IDNChannel. They also did so at IDNForums, particularly in the Russian domains section. Just because the name of the forum is written "Russian Domains" doesn't mean you need only to write in English. I think McDonalds in Russia probably uses an ASCII script on the yellow sign outside, but people are still speaking Russian inside the restaurant...
No, we do not tolerate "elitism" at IDNChannel. Newcomers are treated just the same as old-timers. One of my core pillars is egalitarianism. Some old-timers may find it "a tough pill to swallow" to intermingle in this flat social structure, though.
