Welcome to the new look DNlocal.com
Yes, we have moved forum platforms. Our new platform is one of the next generation bulletin boards. Q. Why have we moved? We have moved to take advantage of the new technology and feature rich benefits that this platform offers us. Q. What features? This forum platform and its underlying database is now fully UTF-8 compliant, that means that native searching of any language characters will be 100% possible. Other forum platforms like VB rely on Google to index the Unicode strings to enable forum searches which is not ideal for a number of reasons. We have always said that native searching of local language is fundamental to our vision of a multi-lingual forum. We are also benefiting from super friendly URLs. The URLs of threads are now in Unicode too, this will give us a much stronger SEO advantage. Something we were lacking on our old platform. We also now have all the functionality you expect (email notification of PMs, proper new post functionality, polls etc) plus some new functionality, some of it yet to be activated. Q. What info has been migrated? All posts, users, avatars etc You can login with your usual Login and password. We will be bringing across the Trader rating stats soon. Q. What’s missing? Old Private Messages. But they can still be accessed via the old forum until the end of the year www.DNlocal.com/old Q. Are there any other changes coming? Yes, the forum will be re-organised a little, with some new sub-forums. And we will introduce new functionality, but we should be able to do this without any downtime. Welcome Back! ps. I think this issue must be addressed, but now it would be harder for non-english speakers to navigate to the forum considering the buttons up top are so small.
Is this the new 1.1 ? Also, what's nice about SMF is it comes in MANY DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! Just install the language packs, add buttons, links, or those small flags people always use, and the forum will keep its skin, and everything except with different languages! if u need more info, just PM me
