I think that the current traffic that we get to our idns comes via the following ways in order of volume (this is a personal, unresearched opinion):
1) Traffic bleed:
Established sites who advertise the IDN url, even though they only own the ASCII version of the domain. Thus, surfers trying to revisit, they type in the correct idn word and end up on our side.
2) SE traffic
3) Accidental Direct Navigation (my term, Ha

TM) Instead of placing their keyword in the google search bar, they place it in the browser's address bar.
Or, people who forgot to switch to English from their language when they're typing in an url in the address bar. (The latter happens to me often)

4) Net savvy folk who know they can find content on idn websites, and "thrill seekers" who take a chance by entering an idn url, usually a single keyword.
Numbers 3 and 4 could be switched.
