I don't think this is significant in terms of IDN adoption rates. Opera users are already aware of the other browsers. Most have already tried IE and Firefox, perhaps others. The rank and file folks who need to "discover" they can type in URLs in their own script are not using Opera.

Either way is fine by me. It'll reduce the # of errors surfers see when using that feature. If Safari and Opera both corrected that behaviour of their browsers, it would be good for domain owners.
