46% IE6 ?
My stats beg to differ. I know these maybe overall statistics but someone is skewing all the stats in IE7's favor. |

That seems high to me too. I was going to post some browser stats from an ASCII site of mine, but they're totally screwed up for April.
Anyone have a general-audience ASCII site to check browser use against this? |

I think they do actually. They concur almost exactly with the netapplications.com statistics.
It would suggest that for English Language traffic IE7 has hit about 30% and is more or less static at that level. The minimal growth from that level could be explained by system replacements rather than more uptake of Internet Explorer by Auto Updates. Doesn't tell us too much about the Far East. We know that on average the speed of connection and specification of the kit will be higher in these new markets than in the US, but the stats themselves give little indication as to what might be happening there. Gamma's stats on the other hand suggest that there is a big increase in IE7 uptake in Japan. Some of this could be due to Webmasters and SEO outfits using IE7 to check out compatibility of Website etc. I don't think the big IE7 surge from Auto Updates can be far away now. It remains to be seen, how much bigger the wave is in the Far East. Quote:
