Vista is what we have been waiting for... It is IDN capable and MS Windows is what most people use.

Is the resistance to Vista the same in other countries as it is in the US? Users here do not want to abandon XP. I wonder if Vista will be like ME? ME is long forgotten and was replaced by XP. I believe that the next Windows version & IE8 will be the move that sends our browser stats in the right direction at a steep slope.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

The resistant to vista has nothing to do with culture or language.

Many software don't work properly under vista, Microsoft really screwed up in terms of downward compatibility. My own software has to be fixed before it can work with vista, i'm not fixing yet, as i'm still watching to see if microsoft will dump vista for the next OS.

I didn't mean to imply that it was cultural. I just wondered if there are anti-Vista sentiments elsewhere. I don't think people are anti-IDN or anti-IE7 as much as they are anti-Vista.

I think the replacement will come soon and things will be easier for all of us. Does anyone know the date for IE8 deployment?

Early versions are out now for developers - btw it is vastly better. IE7 was mainly just catching up, this one actually has new stuff the others will end up following.

Vista can't work with many software, my own software is also not compatible with Vista, but i'm holding back on upgrades until they fix the basic issues. See - Microsoft pulls Vista SP1 from automatic updates, too - SlipperyBrick

Sheesh, so that means there hasn't been an auto-update for Japan.

Has there been a documented AU for IE7 to the consumer anywhere?

Don't even say we have to wait for IE8 to get IDN browser support.

There were some posts that it had started about 6 weeks ago or so. Guess its going to take a while. 20% penetration is still lame, still not seeing any correlation to traffic guessing that could amount to 5 or 10 million computers.

IE7 seems to have about a one third share of the Thai market if it makes anyone feel better.
