Default Dot Travel going the journey?

From Frank Schilling's Blog:

>>From Tralliance Corp. 10-Q:
We received a report from our independent accountants, relating to our December 31, 2006 audited financial statements, containing a paragraph stating that our recurring losses from operations and our accumulated deficit raise substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern. The Company continues to incur substantial consolidated net losses and management believes the Company will continue to be unprofitable and use cash in its operations for the foreseeable future. Based upon our current cash resources of approximately $480 thousand at May 4, 2007, management does not believe the Company can operate as a going concern beyond May 2007.<<<

Bon voyage! Who ever thought to push that 6-letter TLD on people anyway? If it weren't for .museum, .coop and .aero I'd say it was the stupidest one ever!

You had to be certified and pay $99/year I think and just to get the great benefit of their directory? I think it's a very good development, as it forces ICANN to produce a policy for dealing with registries that just ain't making it.

I shall not miss it.

Never been to a .travel domain. Never seen one out there either.

Well I remember looking into it. Their claim to fame is http://travel.travel
You could only reg one domain, the name of your company as opposed to say, rome.travel or hawaii.travel or space.travel
and you needed to turn in paperwork, or belong to one of the 2 main travel associations to even qualify to pay your $100 reg fee.

Next time some genius proposes some TLD like .museum let someone cite this as an example of why not to bother.
