The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE (TRA) is hosting and co-organizing the «Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD) Meeting», at Grand Hayatt Dubai, on June 3 - 6, 2007.
The keynote Address will be delivered by H.E. Mohamed Al Ghanim, TRA Board Member and Director General, entitled: «The ICT in the UAE», followed by a presentation by Mr. Mohammed Gheyath, TRA Director of Technical Affairs, entitled: «.ae». these presentations will be followed by similar presentations delivered by senior officials from the telecom regulatory authorities in most of the Asian countries, Australia and the GCC States, especially the bodies in charge of the Country-Code Top Level Domain (ccTLD).
The Meeting will discuss a number of issues such as the Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs), the Arab Domain Name Project and the techniques of the eNUM, and the latest developments of the International organizations specialized in the Internet numbers and names.
At the last two days of the Meeting, however, a scientific workshop will take place on introducing the relevant organizations, samples on the management of ccTLD, and how to promote and develop the domain names.
This hosting and organizing is within the TRA strategy to endorse and support all activities that may contribute in enhancing the ICT Sector of the UAE.
