Yes, well it just goes to show that America pursues her self interests regardless of people's freedoms and democracy, even though these are invariably used as ultimate justification.

Actually, I was stunned the weekend. My father who is reknown for his conservative pro-American right wing views, actually suggest the US might have prolonged the Cold War because it suited their own commercial interest.

I certainly take most of the stuff they say about China and Russia with a pinch of salt these days, and I think we need to be open minded about a few other places as well.
