Kenna Lee Edler from SEDO.com, just announced Brasil will reach 1 million .com.br domains in the next days.
Brasil web presence grow in the last year has been almost 22%! One million .com.br means double the number of .ES (Spain) and close to Argentina .AR figure (which are FREE!)

I've long been intrigued by .com.br But last time I looked into investing in these domains I found that the ownership requirements were too restrictive.
The choices basically boiled down to: 1. letting an individual resident in Brazil officially "own" our names 2. setting up a corporation there I decided against the second choice because the laws around this seemed unfriendly to entrepeneurs, also the judicial system does not seem to support reasonably quick resolution to problems. And certainly any serious investment in domains should not be held in someone else's name in another country. What do you know about strategies to work around these obstacles? |

My grammer is not so good this early in the morning
. I was trying to ask if .com.br supports IDN. But I agree IDN.com is much simpler. And if .com.br does not support IDN yet then that's just another thing we have going for us. |

I believe you can reg them here: http://www.nomer.com.br/idn/ prices are up there but maybe some other .com.br registrars offers them for less

Bummer...
"To register a domain, it is necessary to be represented or a legally established entity in Brazil as legal entity (Institutions that possess CNPJ) or physics (CPF) that it possesss a contact in domestic territory." (That's translated by Babelfish)
