Ron Jackson should be a panelist instead of a moderator.

Well hopefully he would be able to stop Tim talking crap.

I do like the way they worded this:

"identify the most important events and trends"

Although my fear is that the discussion is dominated by .mobi and .asia

That part of the panel is a bit like having the Ford chairman act as an expert to discuss the latest innovations for the entire auto industry...

Anybody living in the area planning on attending. A first hand account would be nice.
I assume it is good news that IDNs at least made the schedule.

With DS, IDN are very much on the Agenda. There should be a lot of IDN buzz there this week.

Hopefully, some of the laggards like Sedo might actually wake up to the fact that somebody is about to eat their lunch!

Be prepared for some ignorant questions regarding IDNs during DomainFEST such as:

Is xn--k1a.com considered a 7 letter domain or a 1 letter domain? Because this affects the value of the domain.

Although, hopefully IDNs are not as foreign to people as they were just 3 months ago. Hopefully...

Yes, and this shows just how fixated domainers actually are. It has nothing to do with how long it is, it is to do with Recognition, Recollection and Reproducibility. That is why one letter is gold. As nobody is going to try to recognise, recall or reproduce the punycode the answer is obvious apart to the brain dead that make up about 50% of all domainers. I shouldn't wonder if there are not a lot of questions about white boxes.

So did any of you guys submit some IDNs for the auction? (Dont have to specify which ones)

I submitted 7:

4 X Japanese
2 X French
1 X Symbol domain (♫.tv) ~ Be interesting to see how it is introduced at the auction (If it ever makes the cut)

~ See how it goes
