Solved is one perspective. What they have effectively done is equated worthless phishing domains with IDN as they are unable to show hardly any of the good stuff, I don't think this is going to do much for public perception. A major scandal might have been far better!

I wonder if the majority of people will know what 'IDN' actually stands for and so it is not a solution in my eyes. These shitty phishing 'names' will only do damage but sedo could care less as long as the $$$'s keep rolling in

I guess, next stop Namepros. They seem to have Phishing Friendly Policies.

Not to mention a whole bunch of totally inept domainers that would make ideal targets.

I strongly disagree, now that idn's are very plainly labelled as such selling phishing domains is very difficult, therefore those that do pop-up as IDN are more likely to be actual foreign terms. Now it's not reasonable to assume that buyers can be duped, especially since the puny-code is also shown as the technical representation, so in effect it is not reasonable to assume that idn phishing domains are likely to be sold on sedo.

The current wave of phishing domains was caused by the 'succesful' sale of físh which itself was based on the ignorance of the bidders, now such a sale is highly unlikely to occur again, at least not on sedo and certainly not without exempting the buyer from responsibility.

When people are educated enough, in other words when idn has become common knowledge the label might me removed but of course the puny code will always have to remain. Maybe we can push sedo into doing that sometime this year.

babysteps, babysteps.
