Wow, that is a pretty serious issue because some of the best members of the community (Giant, touchring, markits) are in China or spend time in China often.

How long has this been going on? If it's a long time, it might be a good idea to get a new web host.

just signed up, this looks like a well developed forum what with so many threads and posts. but still have to adjust from idnforums sigh. hopefully it doesn't go down and craig is fine.

this place can substitute for idnforums as long as everyone from there moves here.

as for now and based on the current situation at IDNF and like many others, I'll be here at DNL and there at IDNF as well, hope I'll add something to the place here as I hope I did there
DNLocal is a great place and the best place we can all IDNers go to if IDNF goes away for any reason, but to make it more success, I think (many others see the same) Dave should consider using VB here instead of SMF, it gets me more comfortable when I am in a forum using VB, otherwise with other scripts, and I see this from my point of view as as initial step to push this place forward, Elite Auction is a great advantage grant a special privilege to DNLocal over others, can't understand why off it?? technical problems?? then no problem, solve it and make it runs, it will give the place here a very big push forward IMO.
if there is something else in my mind now to make here a success place, it will be for sure some advanced IDN's tools, of course there many sites out there which developed very good tools for DNs in general and some give a special care ti IDNs, but why should I visit this and that site each time I need to use some tool, keeping them all in one place (the forum where I post, sell, buy domains, an auction system, advanced IDNs tools) will make a big difference, right??

Coming back here from IDNF too and would definitively be interested in elite auctions. I prefer this skin too !

DNlocal has always been my favorite place to hang out... I never bothered posting here because it seemed like there wasnt ever any discussion going on but have used more than my share of the chatroom and learned to know a few of you guys and even exchanged tips in there. Also the live auctions here we're really fun in the past.

I'll place a vote (not that mine weighs a lot hehe) to keep the current forum script. SMF is a very robust and lightweight forum platform that scales well and handles unicode in a proper way. There are a lot of great plugins for it also! I think you guys should give it a good try before deciding that we need VB. I think the old skin affected the usability of the forum but this new one is really easy on the eyes and it just looks great!

I'm a little forum shy but very often on the chat so i'll see you there I guess!
