The joint venture has a life span of 50 years and construction is scheduled for completion by 2012.

Central Danang city-based Vietnam-Japan travel joint-venture is planning to organize a direct tour from Japan to central Vietnam, local Tuoi Tre newspaper reported Saturday.
The joint-venture expected to take 3,000 Japanese travelers a month to central tourism resorts, said Ha Tan Vinh, director of Song Han Tourist Company.

The Song Han HIS Vietnam with the initial investment of US$1 million is a joint-venture between the Japanese Highest International Standards (HIS) Travel Company and Song Han Tourist Company.

The joint-venture, which received the nod from the local government early this month, would focus on Japanese tourism and promote the opening of a Danang-Japan air route.

It’s expected that the Tokyo-Danang flights connecting to Bangkok, Singapore and Siem Reap would be the first routes to come to fruition.

HIS is one of Japan's two leading travel companies, employing over 4,000 staff in 60 branches and subsidiary companies worldwide earning annual revenues of $2 billion.
