I am the technical director for the i-Nav and Components plug-in software here at Verisign. I am available to answer any questions anyone has about i-Nav, IDNs in general, Verisign's involvement with IDNs specifically and interactions with IE7 and our plug-in's.

Welcome, thank you for joining and great to have you here.

Maybe when you have time, you could give us a little update and your thoughts on the status of Verisign's DNAME proposal. I am sure a lot of members here would love to hear it from the first source.

Yes, welcome. I-Nav is a bit old hat, although there is still a great need for many online business to put punycode support into their PHP. We need everything from IDN support for Whois to Unicode support at the Web Hosters.

As far as the guys in the forum are concerned, Explorer has got it exactly right. We are very interest in any update relates to DNAME. Details of implementation, timing and specific extension representations would all be very hot news.

We would also be interested in any information regarding marketing in Asia and elsewhere. This is a huge opportunity for Verisign to consolidate its market positon, but it shouldn't just be assumed that this will happen. This requires big budget advertising.

Talking about PHP, one of their main goals in PHP 6 is native unicode support.

I am an idn noob from the netherlands, I have been tracking idn since august 2004, I am interested in development and very selective regging of new names through snaps, sales and mining.

[edit:] correction I have been upgraded to the idn wannabe level [/edit]
