hmmm, I dont think so.
I am from Luxembourg, round about 35% foreign people. All speak beside their original language French or English. Communication is really easy.

You are stressing the point...we see what is around us..
but i dont think Luxembourg with Under 0.5 Million total population and GDP per capita at appx 65k usd can reflect to the real picture

You are right.
What I want to say with my post is that the world would be a bit more friendly if we all speak one language.

Default Hi to all from Freddy

I would agree it would be if we could treat each other different..but thats a different story...language is just 1 thing of many that makes a nation/culture unique imo.

On another note, i dont know what is your position with euroDNS but are you planning to add idn domains? being a registrar that caters to european countries im suprised you dont offer them yet.
also, it would be great if you would place a link on euroDNS explaining idn domains..im sure alot of your customers speak languages different then English and can find this useful.

Agree the world would be more friendly and we'd have less communication problems if we all spoke one language. Back to the real world though, few places on this planet have such a high degree of multi-lingualism as you have in Luxembourg. So many places in large countries, away from the big cities, where most people speak only one language with a local dialect. Younger generation is much better in this regard as well, yes?

Also think 26125 has excellent idea re: posting some info on euroDNS site about IDN. It will both educate and ultimately sell more domains.

Default Hi to all from Freddy

Luxembourg is a beautiful place to live.

But forcing the world to speak English would be a disaster. Many languages have words that cannot be successfully translated into English. Languages are very important parts of cultures.

And I'm be careful advocating English as the one language when you're living right on the border of France!

Hi Drewbert,
not forcing them. Define 1 language as a world wide universal language, if the commonwealth define Spanish or Thai as the universal second language of everyone around the globe I would be glad to learn this one. I want to be compatible. As long you can not put the small babelfish in your ear for translating we have to learn other languages.

I think I heard last time about Esperanto when I was on school!
Is someone still using this?
I think the idea was not bad.
